We use Arc profesionally for all our projects, both for television and film. One thing that takes unesessary long for us to manually do is the different exports needed. For example, for a rewrite, we might need to export:
Version with filename in a specific format e.g. “020226_Scriptname_Revision_xxx” or what not. With various prefixes for different versions such as “Marked_” for change tracking on the pdf, and one “Clean_” without the changes tracked.
For television, it could be one marked, one unmarked, one unmarked with page breaks after each scene, one marked with only the changed scenes exported, page break after each.
It varies per project, but whatever it is, it takes time from writers that should be writing instead.
I propose an optional export modal with presets per project, for all we’re doing. So exporting would simply be “Export though export central” and all variations would come out into the target folder, names in accordance to this project’s conventions.
